The kids hard at work planning their play for graduation.
Well the day has come and gone. My awesome 6th graders graduated this weekend at a short ceremony at the American Club in China. I hope parents enjoyed the show. It was a product to their hard work, ingenuity, and intelligence. It bears repeating that their play was an original. they came up with the idea, wrote the script, and made the set and props. I helped them with a bit of editing for the script and served as their director, but the nearly all the work was their own. That is why they were so proud of it. I know I am proud of them.

Back stage before the performance. What a good group!

Thank you parents and students for all of the kind words you gave me. It is always refreshing to know I've made an impact on the lives of my students. In case you missed it, my poem, "Drops in the Storm", that I wrote for the kids can be found here.

This week we will be winding down the school year with some fun poetry writing and activities. Stay tuned for the final post of the year where I will include an EPUB and PDF file of their poems.
