This Week: Violet's Music

This week in Grade 2 we will be doing the usual, practicing grammar, vocabulary, spelling, reading, and writing. Our story for this week in Journeys is Violet's Music by Angela Johnson. It is a story about a girl who loves music from the day she is born, and her search for friends who will play with her. It is a fun, upbeat story I know the kids will love.This week students will be focusing on story structure and learning how to write well-organized stories. We will begin writing our true stories, the first story assignment of the year, this week.Below is the weekly handout sheet for this week. We will have a spelling test at the end of the week. Please remind your child to study the spelling words and help them review the vocabulary words as well.
