New unit, new book

I hope you enjoyed class on Saturday. We are off and started on a new unit and a new book. Our book for this unit is Uglies by Scott Westerfeld. It is a story of a girl faced with difficult choices in a dystopic future America. Imagine if you were forced to get plastic surgery when you turned 16. Would you welcome it? Fear it? Try to escape or count the days?During this unit we will be looking in depth at the topics of identity and beauty. Please refer to the unit calendar for our reading and assignment schedule.
