Getting started with Romeo and Juliet

This week, you are all supposed to get started in Romeo and Juliet. At first it can seem quite daunting, and require you to read slowly, but with a little effort and patience, you will soon get used to the language and find it isn't so hard. Before you start reading, below are some videos that might help give you some background and preparation for reading the play. There are five, but well worth your time. The first two are about the major themes, questions, and topics found in the play as well as some awesome background information about the play and Shakespeare. The last three are an animated version of the play. It might be worth your time to watch it first, before reading.
If you have a iPhone/smartphone or iPad/tablet, there is an interactive app for Romeo and Juliet you might want to download and install to help. I personally haven't used it, but I've heard it is really good.
