WWI-inspired Poetry Assignment
Post date: Oct 18, 2015 3:24:14 PM
We finished our book on WWI, Nathan Hale's Hazardous Tales: Treaties, Trenches, Mud, and Blood (A World War I Tale). Many famous writers and poets served in the war and received their inspiration from what they saw amidst the surreal slew of death and destruction. It's now our class's turn.
For this assignment, students will choose a theme or topic from WWI that inspires and write two poems (of any style) that they feel best expresses their feelings about those topics. Get the details, plus resource links, in the assignment sheet embedded below. Students should review the discussion questions from this past week to help get inspiration for their poems.
